Hello

Don't have much info except the CTN one is absolute pants! Well in my experience anywhooz LOL.

Bakester · 27/04/2009 12:42

Do you really want manual? The electrics though more expensive are so much quicker and make it much less of a chore

mamadiva · 27/04/2009 12:43

no one?

I like the look of the medela one!

pinky09 · 27/04/2009 12:55

Im not sure about the whole electric thing as the ones i found were v expensive , this will be my first time breast feeding

pinky, I have an avent one, used 6 times and loads of Avent via cups for sale? I found it was fine when I used it, just ended up not needing it! The via cups are great. Can do you some pics if you like?

pinky09 · 27/04/2009 13:39

any help or advice is most welcome as im finding the whole thing a bit stressful thanks

Avent Isis - absolutely brilliant. I borrowed the electric version just to try it out but found that the manual one was much better!

Also second the via cups. Very useful for freezer storage and now for DD's food. Good luck!

maxybrown · 27/04/2009 13:47

Let me know Pinky then if you want any pics? I have over 40 of the storage cups and lids, all immaculate and the breast pump with some new spare parts!

pinky09 · 27/04/2009 13:55

photo's would be good if you wouldnt mind

ok no worries at all.....just give me a minute!

mum2twin100 · 27/04/2009 14:19

Hi there,

with my first kid i used medela electric pump. Its fantastic!

I have recently given birth to my twins and decided to buy manual pump for a change just to try it out. My hand was killing me from pumping and its not comfortable. With my fist child I had mastitis and had to pump more often and massage breast during pumping so i found that electric one is much better.

Its really depends how much do you want to use it. If you use it ocasionally then manual would be more suitable.

maxybrown · 27/04/2009 14:19

Ok if you go to www.picturetrail.com/maxybrown they are in a folder called avent & bibs!!

All in all there is

Avent asis breast pump with 2 stands/covers and unused seals.

4 adapters to fit via cups

1 size 2 teat with lid and screwtop (never used)

32 lids (think 33 actually!)

21 smaller cups which are 6oz

13 larger cups 8oz

Some of the cups are still sealed but they are all hardly used apart from putting grapes in etc as my plans changed but would highly reccomend it all. I used "apparently" the best electric pump at the hospital, cost thousands (yeah yeah yeah) and it was rubbish - much preferred this!!!

Bakester · 27/04/2009 17:20

I bought a medela after having a rubbish one first. It was well worth the investment. It is excellent and they make good money on auction sites once you have finished. I used it with both mine and it was great

pinky09 · 27/04/2009 22:17

Thanks for the advice everyone baby is due in 9 days so hopefully all will go well

Pinky how you getting on? Still confused

Why don't you buy a cheapy manual one and rent the electric from NCT that way you can try both out and you don't lose out on anything if you don't like as you do get decent money back and if you were getting it 2nd hand first of all you'd get a fair price!

I know what I'm on about honest

maxybrown · 28/04/2009 08:09

yes you could buy my cheapy manual one

mamadiva · 28/04/2009 08:28

How much are you looking for Maxy?

maxybrown · 28/04/2009 09:10

Well, it'll cost £4.41 to post it all standard parcles, so £9 delivered?

mamadiva · 28/04/2009 09:34

Ooh that's good!

And it's a good one?

If Pinky does'nt buy I will buy it for her

maxybrown · 28/04/2009 09:36

Its avent isis!! Yes it is good. pics are on my trail www.picturetrail.com/maxybrown

in avent and bibs!

oh too kind!!

bronze · 28/04/2009 09:38

Avent isis

tried quite a few different ones, manual and electric. Had to solely express for 3 months last time so wanted the best and every time went back to the isis.

plantsitter · 28/04/2009 09:47

blimey I will have it if Pinky doesn't!

mamadiva · 28/04/2009 09:47

Am tempted to just buy it but don't want her thinking am being a div because I know she is a bit about all the random breast pumps!

Pinky I am buying it for you consider it my gift to bub!

At the end of the day to though even if you don't like for that price I won't mind!

Maxy I'll have it if you don't mind

BTW I do know Pinky am not just being a generous stranger LOL.

plantsitter · 28/04/2009 09:53

Aw, still generous though!

maxybrown · 28/04/2009 10:55
