FF - how much is too much?

Hi All

I have had to stop breast feeding following complications after an emergency c-section [low platelets led to wound bleeding continuously and another stay in hospital to try and regulate] I have had to start FF. My DD is 3 weeks + 3 days and has been a "sucky baby" from day 1.

I know that I am still meant to feed on demand now she is on formula, but my HV worried me today when she said I should make sure not to overfeed. At the moment DD is taking 4oz every 3 hours (3+1/2 at most), she is draining the bottle, although does bring some milk up in between feeds. This means she is taking up to 30oz a day - is this too much? I am now really worried. She was 8lb 5oz at birth and last Fri was 9lb 1oz.

I would really appreciate some advice, as I'm getting rather worried. When I don't feed her as soon as she starts crying for food she gets really upset and begins literally screaming!

Any advice very welcome xxx

4 oz every 3 hours sounds ok

little ish and often is fine

lots of babies posset after feeds so unless it is accompanied by screaming and projectile vomiting (which may indicate reflux) then i wouldn't panic

Thank you very much! Was worried I was giving her too much. HV made it all sound very scary!
