Just a conversation the other day with a few friends and the subject turned to second babies (we all have just one atm) - general consensus seemed to be that ebf would be impossible with two and you'd have to at least give the occasional bottle. I don't see why bf would be any more difficult tbh! Especially if I'm on my own with 2 children - I don't want to add more work (making bottles) - so am I right, is it possible to exclusively breastfeed a second baby until, say, 12 months? (With solids from 6m of course)

DS1 ebf. Only took a bottle at 15mths and self weaned at 23mths, 3days before DS2 was born....DS2 now 8wks and ebf. Why would it be impossible?????????

The thought of going out and trying to manage a naughty inquisitive 2 year old while trying to juggle a baby, a box of powder and a flask of hot water to heat the bottle........... life has enough hassles!! Admittedly PFB watched a lot of CBeebies in the early weeks and we borrowed loads of kids DVDs so I could feed away but it doesn't last for every. You can be so darn tired when you have two. At least your boobs just get on with making the milk and you don't have to worry about how many scoops you put in the bottle or did you sterilise it.

I suppose if you have a lot of family support ie. people who can take the baby from you for a couple of hours then maybe formula might work out easier?? Not convinced myself though.

it doesn't last forever
