Not revulsion sick but ill sick. I've been BFing my huge baby (9 weeks old, 14lb, gaining 1lb a week and constantly hungry) and want to know if these symptoms are typical when BFing:

  • constant headaches
  • weight loss (currently 1lb a day)
  • vaginal bleeding
  • spots (I usually don't get them)
  • exhaustion
  • dizziness
  • itchy skin
  • irritability and PMS-like symptoms
  • mouth ulcers

The headaches, exhaustion and dizziness could be dehydration. I'm not good at drinking when I need to and often felt like that when I forgot to drink plenty of non-caffienated drinks.

Chairmum, am drinking 2l of water on top of my normal consumption, as I thought it was dehydration, no effect on the issues.

A weight loss of a pound a day needs looking at. It could be a thyroid problem, I know it can be triggered by pregnancy. Are you eating enough?

You sound very, very run down. Please talk to your gp/hv. I bfed a hungry baby who gained 1 lb a week and did not suffer in the way you seem to be.

Show, I have a 3 yr old disabled DS1 too, which may account for some of the being run down.
