Formula do you need to change from 1st stage?

My DS is on C & G stage 1 and he is 9 months old. I was going to keep him on this until he is one and then switch to cows milk. Is all that stage 1-3 milk, growing up milk and goodnight milk a load of old bollocks? Does it actually make any difference? Obviously I want to do whats best for him.

yes its a load of crap

though 6 month+ milk does have extra iron (which they will get so long as you feed them a balanced diet )

it is all invented so manufactures can legally advertise their brand as milk suitable from birth can not be advertised etc

It's not necessary as nannyL said....if your baby is eating well in the second half of the first year, stay with what you have....continue to keep the formula his main source of nutrition for awhile longer however. Between the varied solids and the formula, he should easily meet the increased need for several nutrients. Another thing to consider in regard to the second stage milks is that many have added sweeteners, and there is no nutritional purpose for them...best to avoid when possible.

There is nothing magical about turning a year old either. If he has a healthy and varied diet, go ahead with the cow's milk if you want to...but if he doesn't take in much in the way of solids at that time, better to keep him on the formula a bit longer.
