Breastfeeding necklaces, any good?

Looking for info on these necklaces.
DS is just hauling away on my boob, arching and stretching. Would it help?
Have seen them on ebay but not keen on the colours.
Can you use just any old beads? Presumably not?
Saw one with jingly bells, seems sweet.

Could I just make one myself?

Not sure they work, I wear normal jewellery which my twins (19mths) love playing with, but they still did months of yoga-feeding ;) At times it drove me mad, sometimes just made me laugh, but I find that it's all calmed down a lot now! I think maybe 14-17mths was the most active.

Anyway, what the heck, treat yourself and get a jingly bells one (smile)

Yes, you can make it yourself. Many are just bulky, colourful beaded necklaces long enough so that baby can mess with it while at the breast. It helps some babies by distracting them so that they stay at the breast longer and feed more efficiently. I've known some mothers who have a few and change they up every now and then to keep their child's interest. Works well for some, does nothing for others....

DS is only 5 months.
How long until black white and red is no longer the best?? I forget

I have this one and 6 month old ds loves it.

After the first few months they will be distingishing between colours....it's earlier on when the contrasting colours are easier for them to pick up on.
