Lumpy, leaky engorged breasts - over 7 months in! Is this normal?

I have been BF DS for 7.5 months now but find that I still get lumpy hard painful breasts - practically every day. DS is quite an erratic feeder, especially at night and I just don't think my breasts can work out what/when he wants! Everyone else's breasts seem to settle down but mine have always been like this - ouch. Is this normal?

Mine are certainly like this some of the time - I always feel it's when DS has increased the amount of solids that he wants and it takes a while for my supply to catch down.
Can't really offer any advice, I'm hoping that once we are down to morning and bedtime feeds only that mine will finally settle.
