Bedtime feed for 3 month old becoming really difficult

Hi. I have an exclusively BF 3 month old son, a whopper at 18lbs. I've recently started giving him EBM at bedtime as he won't stay feeding for more than 10 seconds or so at a time and gets distressed, and it's less maddening with a bottle than having me nips wrenched around. It doesn't matter whether it's bottle or boob, EBM or formula (I tried it just to see if it made any odds - it didn't), he does the same, and only has 1-2oz at bedtime. I don't care in nutritional terms as he's a big feeder and is easily getting enough milk each 24 hour period, but I feel bedtime feeds shouldn't be like this. I can't suss the problem, but had wondered if feeding was too much effort, hence EBM as the bottle is a bit easier. He does stay feeding with that for slightly longer, but not much.

Any ideas? It's becoming a real mare.

My daughter was like this at 3 months. Growth spurt? You'll get lots of support here I'm sure.....my brain is fried tonight, sorry.

Does he sleep much after feed or does he fuss?

Does he have any wind? I just ask because this is how my 3 month old goes when he has wind, I sit him upright for a couple of mins then he happily feeds for 15 mins or so

This seems to be peculiar to bedtime. I do wind him but that doesn't seem to be the problem. He latches on and pulls away repeatedly. Ah well, doesn't seem to dictate how long he sleeps - he can go 3 hours or 8 after a session like that.
