three strikes and you're out.....

DS (10mo) in his wisdom has decided now would be a good time to have a nursing strike.

Has not had a bf since 5am yesterday.

Is teething (is always when he is teething) - so he is really unsettled and clingy, just the sort of thing that a lovely snuggly feed will usually sort out.

This is his third one, the others have both lasted 5 days (well spread over 5 days ie Mon - Fri, so more like 4 x 24hr).

I know what to do, just want someone to stroke my head and say this one won't last so long.....

New cunning plan is to get him onto bottles (not taken one for the last couple of months) and try to engineer some "reverse nipple confusion"!

Started well last night with his evening feed in the bottles he used to have (long thin teats). Then tonight he has taken a full feed from a Tommee Tippee bottle (never used to feed from those before for some reason).

Am hoping once he is used to having to suck and lie in my arms I can do a crafty swap of bottle for boob!

His tooth hasn't come through but he isn't "teething" any more - cheeks not red, stopped dribbling and chewing at everything. And if he can take a bottle it obviously isn't sore.

Here's hoping!

BTW i'm asking everyone atm for their favourite unusual boys name... ? due in 18weeks and v stuck!

Very sad at the loss of the bunnies - do u think that if we asked really nicely we could have smileys with deely boppers and clown noses for the summer holidays??

IT WORKED!!!!

He cried during the night around 3am, so I went and got into bed with him.

Wopped the tits out (any excuse) and laid with him for around 20min cuddling. Then as he was all calm and quiet I tried to latch him on.....and he fed!!!!

Stayed in his bed the rest of the night, then this morning offered again - and he fed again. Has fed twice more today as well.

I am sooooooooooooo pleased!!
