What's going on here then? Surely not self weaning? DS said he was going to feed for ever!

I briefly mentioned this on the "extended" breastfeeding support thread, but wondered if anyone else has any idea if ds is self weaning?

He is 3.5yo and loves breastfeeding. Recently, we have been down to morning/bedtime/night times only. Last week I had a house full of visitors and DS had no routine whatsoever, which meant napping in the daytime, very often attached and feeding.

We were back to normal on Monday, so for a couple of days I felt full when we went back to morning/bedtime only. He seemed to love the extra milk.

Then on Tuesday or Wed, he had a quick shot and said "I can't do it, it's not working" and then the same again on the other side.

I have managed to get from him that there is a tiny bit of milk and that it tastes funny.

So, self weaning? Not happy that supply has adjusted after bountiful extra milk? Losing his latch? (talked about this at LLL meeting this morning, most thought it unlikely that he would lose it overnight) or something else?

What do you reckon?

LOL, Pee On A Stick...another test in other words

LOL, gosh after my 100 years on MN, I have never heard that one before.

Sadly, there's no need to POAS. Mooncup needed rather than a stick.

Oh well, hey ho. I can bore you all silly with it again next month.

Oh I'm sorry

I am afraid POAS and other silly phrases are left over from hanging around on a different board whilst trying to get pregnant with DC1. Once I got pregnant my good friend redirected me here

Sorry to hear that . Best of luck for next month.

Sad

He must be well on his way to self weaning. Last night, he had a temperature of 40degrees. He didn't want milk any more than usual. Up until now, when he has been ill, he has wanted to be attached permenantly!

LOLOLOLOL just as I am typing this, he has said "mummy I want milk" but I think that is because I am ignoring him to type.

Ah, now he is feeling better, but still not right, the urge to feed non stop has kicked in.....

Last night, going from one side to the other and back and forth and back and forth. I got so pissed off that I sent dh in.
