Six months ex bf today :)

Baby Angle is six months old today and has had nothing other than breastmilk, Calpol, Infacol and gripe water - the latter three of which she has largely puked back up again. I can't blow my own trumpet too hard as we have been very lucky and had an easy time of things, other than a milk blister a couple of weeks ago, plus everyone I know bfeeds so socially/culturally I think I would have found it harder to ff.

This also means that I can start thinking seriously about training to become a bf counsellor or something

Anyway, just wanted to mark it in some way.

Well done, it an be tough can't it?

Off to McDonalds now!

Congratulations!!!!! Easy or not it's a great achievement you should blow your own trumpet. It's a nice feeling isn't it?

We hit the 6 month mark 2 weeks ago and baby's doing so well I haven't started weaning yet...
I'm thinking of baby led weaning but as he's showing no interest whatsoever I'm taking things slowly.

congrats!

Congrats! I don't want to wish his life away but I am looking forward to being able to say the same about DS in a couple of months time.

MamacitaGordita · 27/03/2009 12:10

Fantastic, well done... you should be proud of yourself easy or not. I think it's estimated only 1% of mothers are exclusively bf at 6 months so the more that do it, talk about it and feel pleased about it, the better!

Thanks

DD is getting a roast dinner tonight but I'm fully prepared for it not to go anywhere near her mouth! She did however suck some fruit coulis off my finger in Pizza Express this lunchtime, which she seemed to enjoy

Well done you - it is an achievement, whichever way you look at it.

Ds2 is 5 months now and we're aiming for it too.

Saying that he did have about 100 ml of formula one night at 3 months when I had to stay overnight in hospital with DS1 and we'd run out of EBM, but I'm hoping that doesn't count. It WAS an emergency.............!

Anglepoise · 27/03/2009 16:18

Jojay I'm pretty sure that doesn't count (100 ml is nothing is it really)
