folllowing another MN advice have posted here aswell as childrens health. Ds2 18 weeks is going in to hosp next week and is having a camera put down and up him and they are taking biopsys. Paed said they will have to give him a couple of enemas (sp) not sure why a couple, and that he can only have water for 24 hours?! How do i cope with this?!He will be having a general anesthetic.

I dont understand why a whole 24 hoursespashe is hardly feeding?

mad4 - is your ds breastfed?

Check with the paed and the anaesthetist. My understanding is that 'nil by mouth' is to avoid the danger resulting from aspirated stomach contents under the GA. Breastmilk does not pose the same risks, as far as I know....but it is worth checking. Even if you are ff, it is worth checking that 24 hours is correct.
