hello, i've had a bad cough all year so pharacist sold me codeine based cough syrup and i forgot to say i'm breast feeding.....is it ok for me to take?

So codeine is a no-no. I was on cocodamol for a while when DS was born, and he was sleepy and struggling to feed. Wish I'd known. He's ok now though!

I don't think enough people know about which medicines are/aren't ok when breastfeeding.

and yet my local pharmacist (in Tesco even ) wouldn't immediately let me have my warfarin prescription with my medical expemption card because I was bf'ing - she had to phone someone and check it was ok first (had to have the warfarin, blood condition). I was impressed with their thoughtfulness and thoroughness.
