I am breastfeeding my dd, but i really need to get back into shape i am thinking of going back to pilates when she is 4months. And have got grandma to babysit. my question is when i express some milk for her do i give it it a bottle or in a beaker training cup??? i read that i should stay away from the bottle to avoid confustion so whats best??

I always expressed for my two, (DS is 5 months) and gave them a bottle nearly everyday for the 10pm feed. I used one of the bottles that is supposed to be as close to a 'boob' as possible. Mine didn't get confused and swap/ped from one to the other quite easily. Mind you they latched on well and Bf was well established before I did the bottle thing. I never thought about the beaker because I would have hated the spillage of BM I had expressed!!!

I expressed and used a bottle fine. In my case it didn't lead to any 'confusion' I agree with Bakester, EBM is a very precious thing and I wouldn't have wanted any of it spilt!

Just thought I'd say make sure you get your small person used to the idea a while before you actually want to go and do things that way when you leave them you will know they will be fine and it will be less stressful and you wont get called back because the bottle thing isn't working- good luck

i used a bottle, and it did lead to confusion ! I abandoned breast feeding when ds was 3 months
But after 4 months it should be fine.
