Expressing - how much?

I have read many times that expressing not as efficient as baby, etc. - just wondering about other people?s experiences as I can hardly express at all. I can't really get anything unless I am feeding the other side, and even then the maximum I can get is about 2oz. It's usually about 1oz.

This morning I managed to get 2oz - that is when I had not fed for about 3 hours. DS had the other side, and seems completely satisfied. Could it be that this is all the baby is getting?

How old is your baby.
TBH I was like daisy the cow but I know it differs a lot from woman to woman. You will get more milk first thing in the morning. I know a lotof women that only get 1 -2 oz per session so sounds quite normal to me. Babies are so much more efficient.

I don't get a huge amount when I express. Infact I can express and get maybe 3oz, and then feed DS from that side right away and he'll be there gulping away.
Don't let it worry you, it really is no indication of how much milk you are producing.
