I can't believe I did this.
I was at a breastfeeding support/toddler group the other day. A first-time mum was bfing her 10wo dd when suddenly she realised that my 2yo ds2 was also having a bfeed. You should have seen her jaw drop! "Doesn't it hurt?" "Isn't he hungry - or does he eat proper food as well?" "When will you stop?" and other such questions, all easily answered.
But then she asked the biggy "Why?"
And I had no answer for her. All I could say was that it's good for both of us, and that it feels nice.
Here I was, with a wonderful opportunity to be an ambassador for breastfeeding, and I fluffed it. I don't know wether I'm or with myself.
At least she's seen that it's possible - she had no idea that anybody could or would feed for longer than the bare minimum.
