My LO is 9 months now and I know he is capable of going without it - no idea what to do.

I found my DS dropped in naturally. He just moved his head away and just wanted to sleep and not feed...you could just try not doing it and see how he goes?

we dropped it over a week or so offered less and less each night

I might try the less and less approach as nothing at all did NOT work last night!

Are you BF or FF. With my dd, (FF by that stage, about 6 mths old), we dropped the amount by 2 oz every other night, took about 5 nights & it was done, no prob xx
