Could you try a trainer cup with a soft teat? Or tommee tippee bottles?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 11/03/2009 14:06

How important is it that he takes milk from a bottle?

You can try loads of different bottles and teats if you can afford it, or do what we did - persevere with the ones that you've got until he decided to take it again!

I used to go out for a walk and leave dh to it as I would crack and just want to feed him myself!

Not super important but it is nice for me to get some time off at the week-end and leave dp with baby..

Whats special about tommee tippee bottles?

baby just pull an awful face everytime he feels the teat in his mouth... Got two different ones and it is the same with both...not sure what to do

How are you doing now tostaky?? ive just posted a really similar query to yours about my 4 month old refusing bottle, sounds like she's doing exactly the same - did u find any solutions?

LolaBella · 18/03/2009 09:35

Tostaky my LO happily took a bottle of EBM until 12 weeks then suddendly decided that i was trying to feed him poison and refused. I spent a small fortune on different bottles and teats to no avail, what i did however, was offer the bottle two or three times a day (with only 1-2oz of milk in as he often wasted it) and after five long weeks he decided that he would take it again and we have had no problems since. He is now 20 weeks. The Tommee Tippee bottles worked best for us as he still won't take any other. Keep offering the bottle and good luck.

By the way, i read somewhere not to immediately offer the breast after the refusal of the bottle as these clever babies can quickly make the connection. Give it ten mins or so

i had same prob with DS eventually just went away all day and left DH to it using NUK bottles. DD (5 months0 now the same screams like I'm trying to poison her, will take a bottle if I'm not around though. She is now taking no milk at all between 11am and 7pm as I'm refusing to give in and BF her but the monkey has started waking at night again and guess what Mummy feeds her at 3am,What do I do?

Im still having the same problem, and racking my brains as to what ive chnaged/done differently?? could it be that tehy are ready for real food/baby rice? i know the current guidelines are not to do it till 6 months, what do people think?
