I've been very lucky and had an easy ride in general, but you know, - honestly, in this climate/culture/society, even with so many things in my favour (i.e. VERY supportive DH, iron nipples, hungry determined baby), it isn't easy is it?

I'm feeling a bit emotional today for having 'made it', particularly because despite having found it hard I well know that many many people have difficulties I could only imagine and they persist and persist and persist, perhaps not getting to six months, but pushing and pushing to go for as long as they can and I truly take my hat off to them.

Well done to me, but more importanly, well done to all of you for however long you have managed.

SydneyB I'm really not sure how long I will bf.

I stopped with no.1 (mixed fed) at 15 months because I was ttc and did and then m/c and so gave up so my body could focus totally on making a new baby. I felt it was premature but I also felt I had no choice.

Well done

I have just made it past 7 months, now the weaning fun begins!

Yay congrats

We are at nearly 24 weeks here so hope to be celebrating quietly myself in a couple of weeks' time though we seem to be marking the occasion with my first ever plugged duct/spot of mastitis instead
