Ok, Dh & I are off out to a music gig on Wednesday night and I started pumping some milk for bottles this morning. I managed to get 4.5oz off just one breast (ds3 had just eaten off the other). Now, he is just turned 4 months and I am not sure how much milk he would take in a sitting, so thought about leaving 2 x 6oz bottles and I can always top him up when I get home.

It has been a long while since I last had to pump full bottles of milk, so I am bit rusty on storage ect. Can I pump another 1.5oz and add it to the 4.5oz I got this morning? Do I have to let it cool before adding it to the already cold milk in the fridge. Also, should I freeze it today and defrost it Wed afternoon, or will it keep until Wednesday night in the fridge? To think I used to be a milk donor and I can't remember the basics!

Let the new milk cool, and then add it to the other bottle. It'll keep fine at the back of the fridge till Wednesday.

DS always only wanted 4 oz in a bottle, so I'd be tempted to leave 3x 4oz, then you can always freeze the spare
