Could this be mild mastitis, is there such a thing?

So about 7pm last night my left boob was feeling a bit sore like it does when engorged, I fed DD3 who is almost 8 months but it was still very tender.

This morning I woke about 3am shovering cold then about 30 minutes later sweating, got up about 4am had a drink of water and some paracetamol, felt sick and achy.

Got back to sleep about 6am so am shattered today, fed DD3 from left boob again (she fed 3 times last night I alternated sides), I feel really rundown today, tired but that could be lack of sleep and my boob is still quite sore, not agony or throbbing but definitely sore to touch. DD3 will be due another feed from it about 10.30am.

I don't think it's full blown mastitis but I have never experienced this before (have fed 3 babies).

May be a blocked duct? I had a fever etc. a few days before the red patch appeared. Massage it abit as you feed. Hope you get better soon!

Sounds like you've had a brush with mastitis. Just keep feeding, feeding, feeding. I hope you feel better soon.

Does sound like mastitis, and sometimes it can be mild, sometimes a lot worse.

Rest, feed plenty from the painful side, feed in different positions, massage loads.

Mastitis can vary in its severity.
Just make sure that breast is being fully drained regularly.
I also find heat, fluids and ibuprofen helps.
Hope it feels better soon.
