Come splutter at this (or tell me I'm wrong, in which case I have an apology to make)

Someone told me today that her HV told her that some women's milk can decline in quality after four months, so that early weaning is necessary

dg2

I also find that whenever I check where they plot my DD's weight on the graph (not that often, I do have a life, honest) they have got it wrong.

It's all a bit worrying really!

Have chuckled out loud - thank you. Was feeling rubbish as last week I was with a small group of mums (all of whom have moved to FF) and one of them revealed that her doctor (incidentally also my GP) told her that after 8 weeks breast milk is only food so there's no difference between BF and FF. AAAARGGHHHH... This mum took this as an opportunity to say that mothers who exclusively BF past a couple of months just 'need to be needed' and were encouraging dependency in their DC. All whilst I was actually BFing my DS (5 months, exclusively BF). Given that my son hasn't quite yet worked out how to operate the kettle, open the fridge and pop to the shops on his own, I'm quite happy for him to be dependent for a wee while yet. But I could do without health professionals undermining what the NHS/WHO and every other right minded organisation deem the best thing for my baby!!! Sorry for rant!

Didn't the HV add that since we don't know which women this disaster affected then we all should use formula or wean early.

NO?

I'm very surprised she didn't.
