AIBU to be totally peed off with this comment?

I had physio and a massage today, told the neonatal nurses that I'd be out all morning but I still missed them. My aunt (who helps me when my parents are at work) was babysitting and I told her to give 100ml of ready formula if she needed it.

Fifi is gaining weight (6lb 1oz today) and has been discharged from the service!

Anyway, nurse called me this afternoon to let me know everything that had happened. She asked if I'm topping up and I said no. She had some today as I wasn't there and two nights her cold has prevented her latching. She's gone through 2.5 cartons in 2 weeks. Nurse said that it's the formula making her gain weight!

How dare she? 1lb 3oz in 3 weeks from a breastfed prem is brilliant and 400ml of formula is nothing! If I was anyone else, less confident, what a blow that would be!

What a stupid thing to say. Congratulations and well done on the fantastic weight gain.

YANBU If that was me I would be angry and gutted

Me personally, I'm not, I'm very confident about breastfeeding (thanks MN ) but what if it was someone else? First time parents with a prem baby gets a comment like that...

That is fantastic weight gain btw - all that lovely mummy milk. You should feel very proud of yourself.

Thanks all at least I know it's not just me, which I didn't really think, but you know what it's like with random comments!

I've posted another thread with her weight gain, it's rather shocking really! She was IUGR and prem, her predicted growth is 1-2oz! She sleeps ages during the day now too not too bad at night either
