BF Biting

Help - my 6MO DD is teething and on each feed is seeming to ease her teething pain by biting, pulling and twisting - ouch. Any suggestions please

My ds used to bite - before he had teeth! i used to take him off and say "no" and wait for a minute before putting him back on. (Remember to break the suction with your little finger, or it will be sore!) Some teething gel before she feeds might help? Or a breastfeeding necklace so she has something to play with?
If it's any consolation, my son never bit after his first tooth came through (thank goodness) it was only while he was teething at first.

When ds bit I took him off, sat him on the floor facing away from me for a minute and then gave him a cuddle and started again. He screamed blue murder at being taken off but it worked! If you do a search you'll find loads of threads on this, another common method people use is to pull them really close so they come off themselves as they can't breathe then latch back on.

thanks for the suggestions - her first tooth came through last week and it looks as though another is on it's way through so think things will stay same unless I try something. Will give them a try.

Push the baby right into the breast when biting. It's better on you than pulling off.

DD wasn't too bad with bottom teeth but when the top ones came through, I just couldn't take it any more (melodramatic? moi?). She was down to just one breakfast feed by then anyway (8mo or so?) so I just stopped. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear.

It's funny, I used to say I didn't want to stop and the last feed would feel strange and my mum always said 'well, you don't know it's your last feed'. I thought this was rubbish (she'd only bf 4 of us ffs!), but she was right. DD came at me with those teeth, and I just went nooooooooooo!
