Have to say that DD currentlt feeding HUGELY as on growth spurt so not currently doing it every single hour or so (!!!!) but in the beginning it was the only way to make sure I keot my fluid levels up and it did mean that i produced enough for the little leech for the first few weeks

sorry previous post incoherent, struggling with ratty won't-go-down baby. i meant kept!

tiktok i did experience a wild thirst when starting to feed (before ds was on solids )- it would subside if i didn't have a drink. also happened to a friend. maybe this is why the drink thing is prevalent?

tiktok · 12/02/2009 22:40

Yes....extra thirst is quite common when bf, but not at a level of a pint of fluid per feed

Perfectly ok to drink acc to thirst.

No idea where the myth came from - possibly from there, I suppose, fishie, yes!

hercules1 · 14/02/2009 09:28

No, Alex, you dont. Just drink to thirst like you would anyway.

moondog · 14/02/2009 09:41

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly Alex.
Tiktok is famous on the MN board. She is an expert in this field and as she says, to make more milk, all you need to do is breastfeed more.

Such a shame your MW appears not to know her arse from her elbow.
