6 month old BF DS refusing formula, any ideas?

I'm sure its been done to death, but please could you tell me what worked for you? we've been offering the milk at bedtime for the past few days (i'd just like him to take it before we go to bed in the hope of a good night's sleep!) but he won't drink it. He takes ebm ok, although not as enthusiastically as when bf so its not the bottle. So far, we have tried giving it warm, at room temp, DH feeding instead of me, after being given half a feed all to no avail! i'm giving him Hipp organic milk, i tried aptamil but he liked that even less!

is there any point trying to ff while he's asleep? is he more likely to drink it or would it just make him wake up and scream?

What about mixing some formula and EBM and gradually increasing the proportion of formula so he can get used to it?

how can you ff when he's asleep ?

I'm afraid I never resolved this issue myself, though when I was finally done with the bf/ff issue I realised that ds was probably so full with b/milk to want ff at all before bed. Durr.

So...(obvious to perhaps everyone but me) drop a feed so he is hungry enough to lap up the formula?

i meant ff as with a dreamfeed (i bf when he's asleep in the evening sometimes) - however it didn't work, he just clamped his gums shut in his sleep

molly will try your idea thanks
