Doidy cup - which way round?

Am trying to encourage my 6.5mo DS to take some water/EBM from a cup, I've just got him an open Doidy cup to try. My question is - which side is he meant to drink from? I thought it was probably the shallow slanty side, but now I'm not so sure...

The high side.

Clarissimo · 13/01/2009 17:57

other way round I believe- pointy side up

At elast thats how ds3 drinks from it

solo · 13/01/2009 17:58

The idea is that they can see the liquid in the cup and learn how to drink.

THanks for replies.. Here is my attempt at a side view of a Doidy cup (hope it comes out) :

So, from this picture, would it be the left side or the right side that goes to the mouth? I'm not sure which side is "high" or "pointy" - sorry to be thick... left side I guess, if the idea is to see the liquid?

The side where the top of it slants towards them as they hold it rather than the top of the cup slanting away from them.

So drinking from the right hand side as the picture above

I think you would figure it out quite quick if you tried it the other way lol.

the other bit would hit him on the forehead!!

CarGirl · 13/01/2009 18:07

ROFL

I just can't see it working the wrong way around!

TaurielTest · 13/01/2009 18:09

THank you thank you, got it now. Blame the sleep deprivation if it's bleedin obvious

It's bleedin obvious! I blame lack of sleep myself

CarGirl · 13/01/2009 18:17

absolutely lack of sleep

HelenBurns · 13/01/2009 18:18

Oh gawd. Don't feel ashamed. When I was pregnant I fitted our new catflap and found it was actually upside down.

It was like a little diving board.

CarGirl · 13/01/2009 18:25

what did the cat think?

solo · 13/01/2009 18:47

LOL! that's made me giggle!

Thanks again. It was a success, I reckon at least 20% of the water got swallowed. Result. And I'm only slightly covered with embarrassment at my idiocy.

Nah! easy mistake! I don't like the Doidy cups myself! Too messy!
