Nearly 12 months replace formula with cows milk?

DS nearly 12 months, is it ok to give cows milk instead of formula? is this the next step? He only drinks about 2oz in the morning and 5oz in the evening of formula now anyway.
Also, can I stop sterilising the bottles? and should I really be encouraging him to drink the milk from a beaker?

Yes to cows milk, yes to stashing the sterilizer away, and yes, good idea to start to move on from the bottle. Try him on one of those sippy cups. I like the anyway up cups, which in my (many and varied experience of sippy cups) are least likely to leak and require least assembly.

My DD started on a sippy cup for her water around 7 months, so by 12 months was on the appropriate one for her age.

DS however did not embrace the sippy cup until 12 months, so I started him on an earlier, softer tipped one until he figured it out. Mam do a good bottle to beaker trainer with a soft spout - I got mine in mothercare...

great stuff, thanks - he takes a beaker with spout for water but will check out those other ones for his milk
Yippee to not sterilising and buying formula

Very liberating! Keep up the cup for water as it's good practice, but have a sippy one for milk and also any "out and about" drinks - like in buggy etc.
