My dd is 5 months and combination feeding. she has 2/3 bottles a day of c&g1. however, she will not take more than 5/6 oz per feed and is hungry again v quickly. I have begun weaning. should I give hungry baby milk a go??

How quickly is your LO hungry after having a bottle?

You can always try the hungry baby milk but I found it bunged my DD up and made her constipated.

Personally if she is finishing 5/6 ozs then I would offer more of the C & G no1 first and see how you go.

agree with simpson - seemed to make no difference apart from to nappies. fwiw we had a VERY bad phase around 5/6 months of constant hunger so may well be growth

no she doesnt finish her bottles, I make up 6 oz and theres usually about 1-2 ounces she just will not take, she just doesnt want it which is why i thought if i can get her to take 5-6 ounces of hungry it'll last her?. I never had this with my other 2. Shes going anything between 2.5hrs-3.5hrs

How long does she go at night?

Sorry for all the questions but my DD who is 11mths has only really gone down to 3 bottles a day in the last month or so.

She used to feed around every 3hrs or so which is a pain when out!! But she used to go 12hrs at night with nothing which is a long time for a little baby. So they have to make up for it in the day iyswim.

see this is another problem, she was previously going 12 hours at night but now she only going 7-1ish then she comes in with me where i breastfeed. This has been goin on for quite some time now

Am trying to rack my brain back 6mths to remember what DD was like

I think they do go through a big growth spurt around that time so it could be that.

Also I remember when DD learnt to do something "new" ie sit up she would be unsettled and want feeding more often for ages afterwards.

Sorry not much help am I

dd was same (she is just over 6 month now) -had about 4/5 weeks where she would intermittently wake up early (ie you'd get a few days of it then it woudl stop or be at a differnet time so you never knew what was going on)

seems better since we worked hard on getting her happy on 2 meals a day over xmas

spendalittlelivealot · 06/01/2009 21:06

hmmm its been a lot longer than 4/5 weeks here, but we'll see Im happy to just go with whatever shes happy with x
