Sorry if this seems a pretty basic question but i seem to be getting mixed messages having searched the site for previous threads! I'm expressing for my baby as probs on breast due to reflux, but I'm now slowly using more and more formula due to going back to work etc. and would like to know if I can mix formula and bm in same bottle?
Thanks

I did this for a while (and may need to do it again now I am unsuccessfully trying to wean my 9mo) and I know a few others who did.

If using the powder, make up however many oz of that you need and then top the bottle up with the bm (i.e. don't use the bm as the mixer in place of the water)

If using ready made formula, just put however much of that and however much of the bm you need in the same bottle.

When DD needed formula top ups in hospital I was advised to give the EBM first and then the formula, so that if she left any of her feed it would all be formula and she would get as much EBM as possible.

There isn't actually a problem with mixing them though.
