Lemsip while breastfeeding

I'm sure it's basically fine but I tend to avoid all medicines while bfing. What do other people think? There are decongestants and whatever in lemsip.
I feel so rough, I wonder whether to just have some paracetemol and a honey and lemon.
Do you think that would be better than a small glass of organic cider?

No to Lemsip with phenylepharine in it

Lemsip or any medication with decongestant will dry up your milk, as per my midwife at ante-natal classes!

I checked this out too, when I was feeling miserable but decongestants will decongest your milk ducts and dry up your milk. Paracetamol in honey and lemon it is I'm afraid.

thanks very much! I'll avoid it.

Rowse do great honey and lemon sachets with added zinc, vit c and echinecea. You can take them straight or make them up with a hot water for a warm 'lemsip-like' drink. Found them beside all the honey etc in our local supermarket and they worked brilliantly!

Thanks bubbleymummy I'll look out for those, they sound good!
I feel so bad at the moment, even just honey and lemon will make me feel better I think!

...or a hot whisky

I'm taking ds 7 out for his birthday to see a show leaving at about 4ish and getting home probably at about 11. I haven't expressed for dd(14 weeks) yet altho I do have an electric pump and sterilisers etc. But haven't given dd any kind of bottle, have never been away from her for more than 2 hours.
What are my chances of mastering electric expression ( I was rubbish at hand pumping for ds and never got the hang of it ) in thenext week!! I can hardly take her with me!
If that fails, what is the best forumla for bf babies and should I try it first? I'd rather not do that but I don't know if I can master that expressing thing! And advice gratefully received.
