Three month old poos every time he feeds

Which is fine but a hassle at night. Sometimes his poos are green. I'm trying to keep him on one breast for as long as possible incase it's inbalance of foremilk hindmilk but he tends to get windy and frustrated at the boob after about 10 mins and so I swap to the other side. Is it normal for a baby to poo after every feed, do you think?

Both mine pooed at every feed as well

Grendle · 02/01/2009 15:50

Mine did at that age. Actually, ds was still a 4 times a day boy at 12 months .

Yup. DS2 was a poo-er. Quite a shock as ds1 had been a once a day man. Both exclusively bf.

It's normal. Inconvenient, but normal.

thanks for all these messages, i better stop complaining though. i must admit, the last few nights, my lo has pooed after his 2am feed and i've left him in a pooey nappy until 8am - is that really bad? spot the slack mum...

think you should change at every poo, can't be nice to sleep in it

my dd pooed at every feed, but then suddenly she stopped, can't remember eactly when but maybe around 5 months?

themulledmanneredjanitor · 02/01/2009 16:45

yes-please change him. he will get really really sore. he's already awake for feed so please change him

Nah you've got to change him if he poos, it'll wreck his bum and make him very sore in the long run, especially once he starts teething.
