mastitis - help please

I went down with mastitis on Mon, and am on anti-biotics. The flu-like symptoms and temperature have gone, as has most of the breast pain, but the affected breast is lumpy and I don't think there is very much milk coming out of it. Ds is feeding more frequently than usual, and gets cross on the affected side, I think he's sucking frantically and getting nothing. I've been massaging it like mad, and pumping away with the manual breast pump, to no avail. What else can I do?

put savoy cabbage leafs in your bra straight from the fridge some thing in the cabbage clears a blockage and the cold sothes and sore hot breast.
just keep feeding from that side expressing might be whats cuasing it or stopping it getting better.

best thing is to keep feeding. if ds is getting cross then try feeding from the other side first just to sate him, and then switch to the problem side

Thanks for the suggestions. I used up all the hot water this morning (much to dh's disgust ). Ds has just had a mega long suck on the bad after starting on the good side, and it is feeling a bit better. Off in search of cabbage now - does white cabbage do the trick? That's the only type I have at the moment!
