I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but I was horrified to read some of the comments that were posted to accompany this article: www.timesonline.typepad.com/alphamummy/2008/12/facebook-remove.html

OP posts:

www.timesonline.typepad.com/alphamummy/2008/12/facebook-remove.html hope that works!

Only read a few of the anti comments before stopping for the sake of my mental health. God some Times readers are tossers (would never happen with the Guardian ).

bronze · 01/01/2009 15:14

same old crap

SoupDragon · 01/01/2009 15:24

I like this one though

"I think whenever a woman breastfeeds in public, all the women present should bare their breasts as a show of solidarity. What would a business do, expel all their female customers? I don't think so. They might be able to stop one, but they can't stop all of them."

bronze · 01/01/2009 15:29

I liked Anns reply.

I get most wound up by those who think thats new mums should stay at home. Who the hell do they think would take the other children to school, do the shopping etc.

I don't actually like my breasts on view when I feed, I don't want to post pictures of me feeding on facebook but the backward ideas of some of theses people really wind me up.

Jacksmama · 01/01/2009 15:30

Oh FFS!!!
Why, oh why, OH WHY are people such idiots about breastfeeding!!!!!!!!!
The picture in the link is adorable, btw - love the look on both mummy and baby's face!!

Jacksmama · 01/01/2009 15:32

Agree with Soupy! There was recently a "nurse-in" at a very tony shop where I live because they were arses to a woman who BF'd there - I wish I'd known about it, I'd have gone and joined in!!

SnowOfHands · 01/01/2009 15:37

I've just realised I've gone past the point of being able to reason with these idiots and entered a new territory. I can't read discussions about public bfing anymore as the incorrect substitution of discreet for discrete is intensely irritating.

LiffeySaysHappyNewYear · 01/01/2009 15:39

That article was shite, talking about the daily mail and soft focus and what the woman in the article is wearing.

red herrings, red herrings, red herrings.

The people who find breastfeeding disgusting should ditch other natural bodily functions for more sanitised modern methods,

Eating with your mouth? Disgusting? Why not attach a food tube to your stomach!!

Pooing? Hideous! why not have a medical evacuation twice a week?

Childbirth? hideous! everybody should have a caesarian whether they want one or not!?

Really, we should be moving away from 'natural' because nature is stupid and doesn't really work does it???

piscesmoon · 01/01/2009 15:43

I just get totally bored with the whole thing-how anyone can equate it with going to the toilet is beyond comprehension! You can't reason with some people and it isn't even worth trying.

SparklyGothKat · 01/01/2009 16:10

have commented lol

StealthPo09IsHere · 01/01/2009 19:33

Wow you can tell the MNers have been at this!
Some people are idiots - I think that's all those comments show.

DaisyMooSteiner · 01/01/2009 23:35

I am PMSL at Sam's comments on the dangers of breastfeeding.
