This was recently linked from the Facebook 'breastfeeding-is-not-obscene' etc group, and it's really heartwarming! He's quite a big baby, too. Does anyone know if breastfeeding has been presented so straightforwardly on any UK children's programmes?

No, but I was watching Vicar of Dibley and Alice talked about bfing her 3mo in quite a positive way.
Though it was very funny when she mentioned that her HV told her she didn't actually needed to eat grass

Yurtgirl · 31/12/2008 21:33

Thats really lovely - Do you think she was actually feeding him in the clip? I got the impression she was rocking him to stop him fussing whilst she pretended to feed him....

I couldnt rock and feed mine

MamaHobgoblin · 31/12/2008 21:36

I must have missed that Dibley ep! lol at grass!

YG I also wondered if she was really feeding him or just pretending, but I think she is (mostly) - if you look closely, his head is staying still, although he looks as if he's juuust about tolerating 'performing' and might stop at any moment, hence all the rocking and patting! I think if I rocked DS while I was feeding him, he'd bite me!

Thats lovely.

MamaHobgoblin · 31/12/2008 22:24

Yeah, I noticed that she wasn't doing BLW!

I love Sesame Street. My brother and I can still do impressions of all the animated characters and muppets...I think it was a really benign but strong influence on our childhoods.

MKG · 31/12/2008 22:47

Oh that is delightful.
Scrumpuous baby.

Stinkyfeet · 02/01/2009 16:47

CWWM - I think that was on Storymakers yesterday or the day before. "Baby Charlotte is drinking Mummy's milk".

I've just watched that again and it made me feel so warm and happy. Partly from the happy big boy and momma feeding, and partly cos I love Big Bird and miss Sesame Street.

If you miss Sesame street, go on the new PBS UK channel's facebook page and ask for it! Let's see if mum power can bring it back to the UK.
