Did it seem to make you gain weight??

I've been on it for about 3 weeks now and seem to have put on half a stone I really need to lose about 3 so this is not good!
I know it's Christmas and all but I don't think I've been overdoing it particularly but perhaps I'm kidding myself!
So much for breastfeeding being a magic weight loss ticket

I ate round the clock - seriously not exaggerating, I had about 8 meals a day - because of the stomach emptying action (also because the only time DS ever gained faster than the centile lines was Xmas week and I kept trying to recreate it).

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup · 30/12/2008 17:39

Hmm perhaps I'm eating more than I think then.
Mrsg did you gain weight?
I suppose I thought if anything the speedier food transit would help lose weight, not gain. Gutted!

No pun intended with 'gutted'!!

At least dd seems to be gaining too though

I did gain a little bit of weight, not as much as you'd think from what I was eating! But didn't do the domperidone for very long. I did lots of walks with DS in the sling and eventually that combined with breastfeeding did help take some weight off.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 30/12/2008 20:29

I think I lost weight on it as I finally had milk to pass calories on in. Not what you want to hear though sorry...

PTA · 30/12/2008 20:33

I gained weight on it too. My diet stayed the same and I was out walking with the pram so should have lost weight but it went up, only by about 7lbs or so but enough to count!

Breizhette · 30/12/2008 20:33

YES! I have been on it for over 4 months and I stopped losing, and lately I have started to gain, even though I am EBF my DS. Gutted.

higgledy · 30/12/2008 23:36

Not losing pregnancy weight at all and should be! I'm doing more walking (was bed bound pre birth) and eating a bit less. I am now blaming the Dom Perignon. I mean domperidone.

vlc · 31/12/2008 00:30

Didn't really make a difference with me.

mrsgboring · 31/12/2008 09:57

higgledy, you've probably got some muscle tone to build up (which is of course heavier) before you're likely to lose weight, if you were on bedrest before.

Now, I could really do with some Dom Perignon...

PartOfTheHumphreysGroup · 31/12/2008 10:03

Oh pants. Sounds like I might have to stop eating everything I see.

Thanks ladies!

I did gain weight when ds was 2-6 months, and I took the domp when he was 2-19 weeks. But, I just put the weight gain down to being starving constantly and not being very active, as I was stuck at home pumping or sat down feeding a lot. And I ate cake to cheer me up .

With dd, Ie found doing a bit of exercise (walking ith her in sling) and trying to avoid white carbs and sugars has made me less hungry and I lost weight more easily.
