Formula from local hospitals?

Does anyone know if formula can be bought at a reduced price from hospitals or clinics (in the Cardiff area)? A mother I know bought hers from a hospital in west Wales and made huge savings compared with inflated supermarket prices.

I didn't think it was possible to sell reduced formula. I thought it was illegal.

It is illegal. If it is happening then they could be prosecuted. Trading standards would be very interested.

you used to be able to buy formula at reduced prices from the clinic but that stopped when they brought out new voucher things that can be used for food as well as infant formula

Even clinics selling reduced price formula would be dodgy... unless you maen buying it using the old milk tokens?

CardiffMum, this sounds really unlikely. Maybe the baby needed some specialist formula that was prescribed and then obtained via the hospital pharmacy. It would certainly not happen with normal formula these days....at least not legally. It sounds to me that someone has been stealing from hospital stores and then selling it on. Could that be the case?
