firstly they seem a bit odd to me, do they really work?? Do they actually stop your milk coming out?? Would that not cause problems internally? I mean milk ducts etc?

The reason i ask what they are like is because i have 5 week old and havent breast fed at all and im still leaking ALOT! No sign of it stopping. This same thing happened when i had ds1 and i leaked for 6 months!!! Im DESPERATE to stop my milk. Have tried sage but that hasnt worked. Someone on here suggested using lillypadz to stop the milk. Anyone any ideas??

I breastfed mine and found lilypadz brilliant for stopping the leaking once my milk had settled down. Sounds like they would be great for you imo

when you say stopping leaking, do you mean the breast pads didnt leak or your boobs didnt leak?

You could express the milk and give it to your local hospital who probably have a milk bank for premature babies.... Then you could do a managed reduction in the amount of milk you produce - hopefully....

Otherwise I used lilypadz and found them fine for the first week and then after I gave them a good wash they didn't work the same. Then at 3 weeks we got thrush so I threw them out. Now use Motherease washable pads.

i wouldnt express as i want the milk to stop. Im using pads, but want something to stop the milk, someone suggested i used these to stop the milk flow..

i think they are good when your milk has settled down but find that if DS2 doesnt feed for a few hours (like a night out away from him) they leak too. tbh i only use them when a normal breast pad would show through the top. they are quite expensive and only last about a month

Aha - I see. Nope they won't stop the flow then - they're for instead of normal breastpads and while they do stop dripping they won't work if there's a reasonable pressure of milk pushing on them.

My milk comes down very fast - 5 squirty jets and I do find that I can stop it temproarily by pushing my nipple intowards my body - like the lilypadz do - but that's a different problem to what you have.

There must be a way of stopping milk production....

ur gp can prescribe meds to stop milk production

I used lilypadz last time I couldn't get on with them, when feeding from one side the other side leaked and also I found after using them for a couple of days I got a sweat rash type of thing on my nipples, not good I think they stopped the nipples from getting air.

I use Boots washables this time and they are great.
