Does anyone know if the food that I have eaten will affect my baby and how long this is for? I ate some jalepeno's last night and my daughter was pulling off my breast when i was trying to feed her and screaming. I thought it could be what i had eaten or maybe it is something else, she is 6 weeks old.Any ideas?

Food does flavour breastmilk, but a bf baby will be used to changes in flavour. I don't think the jalapenos will make your bm hot and unpalatable. More likely baby had some tummy ache / wind / was in a bad mood!

The only way of knowing if it was the peppers is to eat them again and see what happens... As they are not exactly a staple foodstuff you might prefer to just avoid them to be on the safe side.

am not sure how much what you eat affects the taste of breastmilk but when DS2 was tiny, i found if i ate broccoli he had terrible wind and tummy ache about 12hrs later.

apparently if you eat bananas your baby has banana flavoured milk the next day
