Giving up night feeds

Oh what a disaster last night was. DS is nearly 9 months and for the last few weeks has been waking every 1-2 hours again and only settling on breast with exception of maybe one or two times. Couldn't hack it anymore so sent DH to do last night and tried to get some sleep. Was hoping it might be the end of night feeds He was armed with lots of cuddles, beaker of water and a bottle in case of emergency. At 4am I could hear the noises of a man on the edge so went to take over and I fed LO as he normally wakes for the day at 5something anyway.
This is not good. I know that sleep will be an issue for a week or two as he has constant teeth trouble(has done for months), but more importantly has just taken first steps and is practising non-stop. I am bracing myself for no sleep til he does it properly.
Sorry to ramble...what do I do? DH had offered to do a few nights but DS didn't like it and DH got an hour sleep total...he wont last long...
Should add that a "normal" night is 7-130/2, feed, 330, 530 start the day (sometimes later)

You'll want to know about thedays, wont you...he has three hour' sleep unless he waks early, in which case he makes up the difference. Three small meals. Milk 530, 700, 1100, 300, 700 and in night.
