Getting worried about my left boob

If your dc will only feed from one boob (my right one), what happens to the other one? Will I end up lopsided. And if it dries up, will milk come back? Or should I chill out about it?

Hi I have this exact problem too. Nothing helps (changing positions, nothing) ds2 just does not like the left side. Any advice appreciated!

I had the same thing, with two babies. I was very worried the first time but they both went back to normal size, so when it happened the second time I just gave up with one. They are both the same size now so don't worry.

My lo is seven months. I am exclusively bf as he won't take a bottle, he's a fussy one.

Piscesmoon that is reassuring.

I just had one side that produced lots of milk and one that didn't. Being wise to it the second time I made sure that I fed a lot from the side that didn't, from the very beginning, but it didn't make any difference.
I was very worried because it looked ridiculous-one small boob and one huge! You can't tell which was which now.

My DS is similar - doesn't like the right side at all. Will just about take it, but doesn't feed for as long as it's always a nightmare getting him to latch, he's reduced me to tears with it several times now.

Breast feeding is meant to protect against breast cancer, but do you think if the baby only feeds from one breast then only that breast is better protected? Does that make any sense?

My DS always preferred the left to nurse from, so I nursed on the left and pumped from the right breast. Over time, it's developed that my left breast is my "high-volume-milk-producing" breast, but the right one lets go for the pump more easily. My friend's baby was also a left-breast-baby and her right one just sort of stopped producing much.
Interestingly, DS is 10 months old now and nurses equally from both sides... I guess he's gotten over the "dreaded right breast"!
