OUCH! DS just bit me for the first time

and I screamed, against everything I've ever been told not to do when this happens. I was in a cafe, t'was a bit embarrassing. I couldn't help it - was unexpected and painful. Am bf again at the moment, but he's half asleep and doesn't seem inclined to mess about.

Any advice for when he does it again? He wasn't upset by my scream, just pulled back and looked curiously up at me, the little beggar. I told him I'd have his bollox if he did it again but sadly I don't think he understood...

I did that too. Yelped loudly every time it happened. He got a bit upset but I think clued in that this was Mama's pain signal, so stopped doing it after several yelps.

OUCH!!!!

It's blooming hard not to! Ds went through a phase of biting me for about three weeks every feed [ouch!] I got used to knowing his jaw movements before he'd bite, he'd kind of slide off the nipple a tiny bit and pause for a second before clamping his teeth down, so as soon as I thought he was going to bite I'd pull him off firmly. If he cried I left him for a second, sometimes sitting on the floor (I'd support him) facing away from me. Someone on here suggested that trick. I'm not sure what did it in the end, but he did stop biting me, which was a relief because he had 8 teeth by the time he was 6 months old and I bf until he was just over one.
