Cutting down bf, feeling really sick and wobbly...

I have a 10 month old dd and am in the process of weaning her from bf. I feel like I've done my time with feeding ifyswim and we're hoping to ttc soonish so definitely the right time for me to cut down.

DD currently has 4 feeds a day , so have been cutting down one feed per week and replacing with formula for the last three weeks and am now just feeding her before bed. DD is fine and doesn't seem fussed at all but I've been feeling very strange - sick and just a bit wobbly and weak! I thought it might be a sickness bug as there seem to be loads doing the rounds but somehow it feels more hormonal that that if that makes sense. In fact, it feels really like the first 3 months of pregnancy were for me.(I'm definitely not pregnant though!) I had mastitis a couple of times at the begining so am worried that this may happen again.

Just curious really if this had happened to anyone else and how long it lasted for?

I would also wonder if it was hormones returning.. although for me periods only returned once I stopped bf completely.

I would also look for other reasons not connected with feeding. Are there times of day it happens? like could it be low blood sugar, or have you started drinking coffee or something. Also, are you getting a really good diet? i.e. iron. I would also just check your blood pressure.

if it doesn't get better, I would go to the doc, it could be lots of different things. hope you fel better soon!

Thanks sunnytimer and Gemzooks.

I think it may well be my hormones raging! I've not had a period yet since I had dd so that may well be on the cards now that I've cut down the bf.

I'm not sure about whether it's worst at different times of the day, I was definitely feeling rougher this morning that I am now. Will keep an eye on it and see if I can sense more of a pattern...
