Getting dizzy - is this related to bf?

Howdy
My dd is 21 weeks and excl bf.

Recently I've been feeling dizzy /woozy quite a bit. I've checked blood pressure and that was healthily low rather than dizzy low. It is not just when I get up quickly - any ideas to help? I feel like I'm not firing on all cylinders.

Choc x

have you had your blood levels checked for anemia? are you eating properly and snacking enough? are you eating enough protein?

gulp are you pg?

OMaLittle · 24/11/2008 13:56

Probably low blood sugar - are you eating enough?

BalloonSlayer · 24/11/2008 13:56

Could it be low blood sugar? Do you get shakey as well?

I often get "the shakes" but when I was exclusively bf DS2 I got it so bad I was sweating and had stomach cramps as well.

Just a thought...

shitehawk · 24/11/2008 13:57

Unlikely to be related to bf, I would have thought.

Do you feel OK otherwise? Lots of things can cause dizziness - anything from ear infections or labyrinthitis to not eating enough.

How did you have your blood pressure checked - did you do it yourself? The home blood pressure monitors are notoriously unreliable, so maybe it would be worth popping into the pharmacy or seeing the nurse at your GP's practice and getting it checked out properly.

Could you be anemic?

Chocolatedays · 24/11/2008 14:04

Thanks for the quick responses.
I checked my bld pressure at the docs (they have a machine) Did it twice just to be sure.

I had wondered whether I wasn't eating enough. So have upped food (and essential cake eating) to the point I think I'm actually putting on weight .

Are there any diy indicators of anaemia?

Don't think I have labyrinthitis as i don't feel dizzy in bed - and my dad felt rough as when he had it... even when horizontal.

I had terrible dizziness just before my first period after having DS2 (while breastfeeding). Had been to the docs and had everything checked - there was no explanation for it. After 1st period, it didn't return. Might have been unrelated...might not...

I feel really weak and tired am wondering if it is the breastfeeding or might i be anaemic too, dd is 4 months and drinks all the time

Chocolatedays did you ever find out what was causing your dizziness? or has it gotten better
