What do you love about feeding time?

Breast or bottle feeders, what do you like best?

I love the way my LO stretches out her toes and rolls her eyes with pleasure when she gets her 1st bit of milk, like she's thinking "yummy!", she likes her food like her mum and dad!

I love the way that at 10mo (tomorrow) DS still pecks at me to tell me he's hungry. I don't think its a reflex any more, its just his way of communicating.

The way he grins and sometimes giggles at me when I'm getting myself ready to feed him, and he sees my breast emerging. Sort of "yay! dinner!"

Oh, and the way its the only time he sits still for a cuddle these days!

CharCharGabor · 19/11/2008 19:18

The way DD bounces on my knee saying 'More! Yes please!' when I'm undoing my nursing bra

ellideb · 19/11/2008 20:25

I love the way my 2mth old son makes sighs and grunts of pleasure as he's drinking my milk and the way his eyes someties roll in his head.

I love the way he purses his mouth like a fish when he's ready for a feed and holds onto my nursing bra like there is no way he is letting go until he's finished!

IAteMakkaPakka · 19/11/2008 20:28

Oh I love those little giggles too Chairmum - a lovely sound!

I like the hotness of DS's hand as he strokes my arm.

I like the full sigh at the end.

I also love /am mortified by his current means of asking for a feed - yanking the neck of my top out and trying to get his head down there

Favourite for a while was when I wore a polo shirt he'd stop feeding halfway through and try to pull the collar down - I am sure he thinks I have 4 boobs - 2 on top, 2 underneath!

So many lovely moments

rascal1979 · 19/11/2008 20:48

Everything

but particularly

The way DD looks up at me
The spontaneous grins she gives me whilst feeding
The MMMMMM MMMMMM sounds when she is having a good feed!
Her hand playing with my back/arm/chest

Latest fave tho has to be her singing whilst feeding!

oopsacoconut · 19/11/2008 21:20

DD is 11 weeks and BF is the most amazing satisfying thing I have ever done. I love the way she looks at me and smiles as if to say Mummy it's you. She has just started giggling whilst waiting for letdown, then she lets it squirt her before latching on and then giggling whilst feeding.

Trying on clothes that fitted her 3 days ago only to find she has grown and it's all down to me

Darkmere · 19/11/2008 21:56

I love love love her hand resting on my breast while she feeds. Its so sweet next to her face.

And I know what Oops means about the new clothes.. its a great feeling to know its down to me especially after a difficult start.

StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2008 21:58

love the end of feed sleep - like he's drugged
(Just for the record - he's not!)

nigglewiggle · 19/11/2008 22:01

That contented, chubby-chops look after a good feed!

FaintlyMacabre · 20/11/2008 01:29

We called it the 'Baby Father Jack' look - drunken expression, milk dribbling down chin and red hair standing on end! Never managed to get a picture of it though

heather1980 · 20/11/2008 09:23

the way his eyes roll up into his head when he's falling asleep and he bats those long eyelashes at me. it's a kind of drunken look!
don't like the way he grabs my nipples and digs his nails in. ouch. but he's only 5 weeks so i'll forgive him

alipalli · 20/11/2008 09:47

The drunken look as he is winded: we call it "milky ecstasy"

The way his hand strokes my chest when the milk is really good, it is as though he is coaxing it out.

How he bobs off the breast now to have a look at me and give me a huge smile before getting back to business.

Having this warm little creature curled around me and we are both relaxed and comfy.

Of course using BF as a great chance to read, MN, and watch TV which doesn't happen for the rest of the time

cyteen · 20/11/2008 22:30

My 11 week old DS suddenly getting this intense look of concentration as he nears the breast It's hilarious! Also his little 'a a a' noise that lets me know it's milk time.

When he's fallen asleep feeding, I put him down and when I check on him half an hour later he's still making eating motions in his sleep nom nom nom

MrsJamin · 21/11/2008 09:02

same as chairmummiaow, the only time 10MO DS is still for a proper cuddle is feeding time!

mookickkick · 21/11/2008 09:53

And I love the cheeky grin as dd inserts a finger or two alongside the boob in her mouth!

Anglepoise · 21/11/2008 11:53

The sidelong reproachful look she gives me as she latches on if she thinks I've been a bit slow getting my boob out (usually a matter of seconds)
The way her toes waggle in pleasure
Her big blue eyes looking up at me
When she wraps her lower arm around my waist
In the nicest possible way the fact I can pretty much shut up her crying every single time
When her neck goes completely limp and her head rolls back and she gets a big smile on her face
When I'm feeding her in bed at night and DH snuggles over and nuzzles her in his sleep and I look down on my contented little family

ExtraFancy · 21/11/2008 12:07

The way that my 15mo DS gets his special Milks Cushion and puts it on my lap, which means he wants a feed...he knows the sign for 'milk', which makes me smile every time

Alieight · 22/11/2008 22:34

The way my DS wraps both arms around my boob

When he strokes my boob mid-feed as if to coax more milk out.

When he falls asleep at the end of a feed, unlatches and snuggles his wee face into my boob as if it's some wonderfully comfy pillow.

The way he'll stop feeding sometimes just to roll over and give me a huge smile...before launching himself back on!

This is making me want to go and wake him up for a cuddle...think I might have to go and watch him sleeping [pathetic mummy emoticon]

blondehovis · 22/11/2008 22:57

This is all making me feel quite emotional!! I have REALLY struggled with BFing both my DD's. DD2 is now 4 months old and I have only just started to have nice experiences feeding her (DD1 was fed expressed milk in bottle till about 10 months - could NOT get her to latch on). It has been such a trial. Reading this and reaslising that she does actually do a few of these things mentioned, also that wonderful satisfation of knowing that you are growing this amazing little person - it has been worth it!!!

elvisgirl · 22/11/2008 23:12

I love the chance to study DS in slow time, watching & stroking him - the curves of his ears & nose, hues of his hair, intensity of his expression, softness of his skin and how he is changing day by day.
Of course this is when he is not too distracted and tugging my hair

Cryptoprocta · 23/11/2008 09:07

DD (17 weeks) has started stroking the top of my boob, back and forth. I was trying to express at work and not getting much, so i tried it and it worked!

She doesn't get "diddy drunk" so much anymore, but i used to love that look.

Love those random grins! Like she's saying "grand milk today!"

The peace and quiet whilst having a hand free. God bless Virgin on Demand!

When she's shouting for food cos she's so impatient, the diddy comes out and she carries on shouting, but her eyes light up and she grins too.
