Hiya,

I'm new to mumsnet and hoping someone can please help me.
My 12 and a half week old has started fussing over his food. He comes off after drinking 120ml to burp as usual, then he is desparate for more but just plays with the teat with his tounge. Its as if he still needs to burp as his mouth is still a bit blue but no amount of burps or hiccups seem to help.
He's always had trapped wind and i use infacol and gripe water to get a burp, but its never put him off his food before.
Maybe paraonoid but he had his jags and a cold a week and a half ago and it which put him off food totally for 4 days and since then has been fussing with the teat.
Please please can anyone help? thanks x

Barbara - how do you know it is 'trapped wind' that is stopping him from wanting to have more milk? The blue lips/mouth thing is a myth.

Maybe he just has a smaller appetite at the moment? What do you think?

hiya, yes I wonder that as he has had a cold he just might not be as hungry, only he seems to get really upset at his inability to eat, like he is still hungry but cant eat. he sort of grabs onto the teat as he would when he is hungry then plays with it. in the past when he was full he would just close his mouth. then again, maybe he has just changed his way of telling me hes full!
