DS2 is fully BF and is waking every 2 hrs or less in night for food. He did used to go a bit longer but has just had month of being ill with bronchiolitis so appetite reduced & lots of night waking etc etc

In addition to this, as soon as he's even slightly awake he rolls onto his tummy, gets stuck and yells. we have now resorted to getting him to sleep in the buggy cos he can't roll over. Have tried wedging him in cot but it doesn't work.

he's hardly been having much solids during the day as he's still not 100% recovered

added to all this I really need him to start taking a bottle as I'm going back to work in 6 weeks

I just don't know which issue to tackle first and what to do about it!

(by the way DH is disabled so not able to help out at all)

My DD2 was like this. Thought I was going mad with exhaustion she woke so frequently. You have my sympathy.

Would you consider taking your DS into bed with you so that at least you don't have to get up and you can help him if he gets stuck? Must admit cosleeping didn't really help us but i know some people swear by it.

I would hold off on the bottle until your DS is 100% better. You may find that he will take milk from a sippy cup better than a bottle if he has been exclusively BF so far.

Wanna be in my gang moominsmummy?

Last night he fed at
6.30 (when I put him to bed)
8.30
10.30
12.30
1.30
2.30
3.30 and stayed awake until 4.30
Then dd jumped on us and woke us up at 5.45 and the day began...

It's utterly grim, isn't it.

There used to be a thread called "Sleep is for the weak" where people like us would gather and hold each other up.

Great thread title and it really helped to know you were not alone. You guys should revive it.

My DD is now 2.5 and generally a fairly good sleeper. This will pass. You just have to not collapse with exhaustion before it does.

Huge sympathy if you have to work at the same time.

Can I join too? My DD is nearly 8 months, has never slept longer then 4 hours (and that was for all of 2 nights)
Last night she fed at
6.30
8.30
10.30
12.30
1.30
2.30
3.30
then stayed awake till 5
awake at 6.30 for the day

Brokenlispears, just looked at your post, it seams we have non sleeping twins!
My DS is 2.3 and has always slept really well so DD was a real shock!

BrokenliSpears · 17/11/2008 09:03

Ragdoll let's come to an arrangement - I'll do tonight, you do tomorrow night. We could each have a full night's sleep every other night!!

BrokenliSpears · 17/11/2008 09:04

Beachcomber, I think I will revive the SIFTW threads. Good thought

ragd0ll · 17/11/2008 12:02

Sounds like a good deal to me!.
Does your DS nap? DD will only have about 40 mins at a time, Im convinced that if I could get her to nap better then nights would be better as well.

RinkyDinkyPinky · 17/11/2008 13:11

Can I join too?

DD2 is 5 months.
She had feeds at 7.00pm
9.00
11.00
12.30? it all got blurry
1.00

7.00

feel myself dissolving.
just glad not to be alone.
