Self weaning??

DS is a huge baby. He eats really well, drinks lots of water and has, for last six weeks, had only two breastfeeds a day. He's now showing signs of losing interest in his evening feed (sob!!). He will get up and wander off when he's had only one side whereas previously he'd want both and then more. I also have the feeling the following morning that he has not drunk very much as one boob is a bit sore sometimes.

Is this a sign of DS self weaning or just DS having the attention span of a knat? The morning feed is no problem, it's just the evening one where he is seeming to get restless. Any advice / tips / comments? Thanks in advance.

Ah, a vital piece of info I forgot to include... He is 11 mo. Exclusively BF until 6 mo and he weighs in at 13 kilos. In addition to his milkies he eats breakfast, lunch, a mid afternoon snack and dinner. He drinks water at each meal except breakfast when it is still offered but it gets thrown on the floor.
TIA.

Thanks marlasinger. I just get a bit sore sometimes in the morning when he doesn't feed well at night but I guess that should settle down soon enough though without damaging supply.

I don't really want this to end. I probably won't have another baby and I've really enjoyed his babyhood. They grow up too quickly...

ds1 self weaned at 11 months because he was so interested in EVERYTHING he couldn't spare the time to breastfeed. He is still very busy aged 3.
ds2 refused to be weaned at 10 months when I tried it (not one drop of formula would pass his resolutely closed lips!) and is now very gradually reducing the amount of milk he takes at each feed to what I think is very little (although he notices if he's not offered it). I'm not sure what will happen to stop these feeds - guess he will just loose interest.

sorry meant to say with ds1 it was the evening feed that he was least interested in - he was full of dinner, I think, and just not that keen...
