i know bler bler bler foremilk but how do i get dd to feed for longer at one breast? she only feeds when she switches.

oh, and she's 10 weeks, 4 corrected, and putting on weight at an okay rate.

Is she switching a lot? In that she's still gettnig the hindmilk anyway (is my understanding) since both breasts are being drained.

Ds did just sometimes get green poo. Especially if he had/was recovering from a cold. iirc dd2 has had a couple of colds?

Have they got anyone new in or is it just Linda? I've emailed her a few times re: new stuff I've bought (returned to work and spent £££ on bf books after the of a keen medical student about to do her 30 mins of infant nutrition training coming in looking for a couple of books and there was one tatty copy of The Womanly Art from 1978, and a bunch of things produced by Nestle ) but never had a reply. I wondered if she was still at YH much.

she's absolutely all over the place, you can hear here clacking down corridors of hospitals all over glasgow. she does pop into the bfing thing though, most weeks. it's a very naice woman called margaret, former midwife, training to be nct bfc who's there as well. she is a sweetheart but no rosemary.

With DS once he had "finished" one side I took him off, faffed around winding for a min or two then just put him back to the same side & he didn't seem to notice that he hadn't gone on to the other side.
Also tried breast compression towards the end of a feed, squeezing with my hand to stimulate more flow so he gets more interested. There is a vid about this on the Jack Newman site if you search about on the net.

i'll try the bc at the end, i'd been doing it at the beginning, thanks. but she definitely notices if i try to put her back on the same breast, just spits the nipple out. she's not one of those babies, i think, with a massive compulsion to latch on.
