4 week old screaming at breast

I hope someone can help. In the last couple of days my 4 week old has been having screaming fits at least once a day and cannot be calmed unless given a bottle. We had been giving him one bottle, usually of expressed milk, at the last feed to give me a break. He breastfeeds normally the rest of the time, but I can't predict when he will refuse the breast and I worry now that he prefers the bottle. It's usually after he's had a full feed so I'm confused that he still wants to feed or is it something else? The screaming is awful.

Is he growing through a growth spurt? Usually 'round that time.

Or is he a sucky baby?

You could try 5ml of gripe water after the feed. Or keeping him upright for 10-15mins after the feed to make sure it's not wind.

Sorry, you can see I'm guessing. My dd is 4 wks too and I'm ticking off a list every time she screams...
